Apparently there is a rumor going around that the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Hong Kong Disneyland will be replaced. Rumor has it that Hong Kong Disneyland is upset with their castle. If you are unaware of the history of the Disneyland Hong Kong castle I'll give you an explanation. Back in the early 2000's when Disneyland Hong Kong was being built, Michael Eisner was the Disney CEO. After Disneyland Paris Resort didn't produce the numbers they wanted, Michael Eisner wasn't high on the idea of putting a lot of money into Disneyland Hong Kong, which lead to a carbon copy of Disneyland's castle. Apparently after seeing Disneyland Shanghais castle Hong Kong Disneyland got quite jealous. So maybe we could see an announcement from Disney soon saying that Hong Kong Disneyland will get a never before seen brand new castle. Do you like the current Disneyland Hong Kong castle? Or are you excited at the potential of a brand new castle coming to the park? Make sure to let us know! I like the idea! Although, instead of destroying the existing castle, it looks like they're going to build on top of the current one. If you examine the artist rendering of the proposed HKDL castle, the bottom portion looks exactly the same as it does now with an addition to it. I've always thought it would have been better if Disney built different castles at each park to represent a different princess. As you know, Cinderella's castle was built at both the Orlando and Tokyo parks.
