Pixar's New Short Film 'Bao' Is About Dumplings Springing to Life With An Unexpected Twist3/28/2018 Bao, an upcoming 8 minute long animated short film (longest in Pixar history) is being released along side Incredibles 2 this summer, on June 18! Domee Shi sits in the directors chair as she becomes the first women to helm a short film for Pixar. Previous work of hers include being a story artist on Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur, Incredibles 2, and Toy Story 4. According to the Tribeca Film Festival, the plot synopsis for Bao is about "An empty-nesting Chinese mom gets another chance at motherhood when one of her dumplings springs to life. But she must come to terms with the bittersweet revelation that nothing stays cute and small forever." No official images, concept art, or video has been released for Bao yet. But with Incredibles 2 arriving in just a few months, we can expect to see some cool visuals in the upcoming weeks. How excited are you for Bao?
