During the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, Disney decided to release this jaw dropping TV spot. From the very beginning I thought this movie would be amazing. I love the Hawaiian theme like in Lilo and Stitch. The directors Ron Clements and John Musker have made some of my favourite Disney films ever. Now every image or video clip we see surprises me again and again. The animation and visual aspect of the film looks unbelievable good. I have a feeling this could truly become one of the best Disney films ever. Are you excited for Moana as much as I am? Let us know by tweeting to us @MagicManiaInc ! Have you ever wondered what was the original titles for some of your favorite Disney films? If so you should continue reading this! We will be running down some original titles for many Disney films, so here we go!
This morning USA Today released brand new images from Disney's upcoming animated film, Moana. These images introduce new never seen before characters! Finding dory is now officially the highest grossing domestic animated film ever! With $447,463,777 Finding Dory surpassed DreamWorks Shrek 2 which made $441,226,247 in its domestic run. Disney Animation Studios film, Zootopotia (which was released in march of 2016) is currently ranked 9th on this list. This is also the 2nd box office record for Finding Dory, the first being the highest grossing domestic opening weekend for a animated film. Finding Dory still has a presents in theaters, this past weekend (July 15th-17th 2016) Finding Dory ranked 4th (domestic) on its fifth week in theaters! Currently Finding Dory is sitting at $723,663,777 world wide. Could it be the 5th Disney Animated film to pass the 1 billion mark? Or will it beat any other records? Disney Gigantic film gets pushed back to make way for newly announced Wreck it Ralph sequel8/26/2016 Wreck it Ralph was a huge success for Disney back in 2012, it's no surprise that a sequel has now been officially announced! Wreck it Ralph is my 2nd favorite Disney/Pixar animated film behind Toy Story 3, and in front of The Incredibles. Wreck it Ralph 2 will hit theaters on March 8th 2018. That release date was originally for Gigantic, but that film has been pushed back to November 21 2018. With this announcement there will now be 3 Disney/Pixar animated films that year. (in order of release) Wreck it Ralph 2, Toy Story 4, and Gigantic. I look forward to all of them so much!
On June 17th I went to my local movie theater and watched Finding Dory. Before the film started you have your average ads and interviews that play in front of all movies. Well playing in front of Finding Dory was a interview with the director of the film (Andrew Stanton) and the producer (Lindsey Collins). I don't have the exact quote (will update with exact quote once I see it again tomorrow) but Andrew Stanton said something along the lines of "If you stay till the end of the credits then you'll see a little clip that hints to whats coming soon". Well if you stay to the end of the film there is a post credit scene. SPOILER WARNING
The scene shows all of the characters from the fish tank in the first film. They are still in there plastic bags and they arrive at the aquarium. A boat then proceeds to sail over to the fish, and scoop them up into the boat (very similar to how Marlin and Nemo got caught in Finding Dory). Well my theory suggest that the main focus of the 3rd film in this franchise will focus on the fish tank characters. They practically had no role in Finding Dory so it makes sense for Pixar to give them the screen time they deserve. Finding Dory opened in over 4300 theaters over its June 17th weekend. The movie didn't just set a record for Pixar films, it set a record for all of animation. Finding Dory currently holds a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the 10th highest rated Pixar film. But that didn't stop it from surprising many people when it was announced that Finding Dory racked in 136m$ on it domestic opening weekend. The last (and only) Pixar film to open to over 100m$ on its first domestic weekend ending up making over 1 billion dollars at the world wide box office (Toy Story 3). I'm sure Disney Pixar is happy to see a great box office return (Finding Dory) after The Good Dinosaur under performed at the box office last November. Finding Dory made more money in its first weekend then the Good Dinosaur did in its entire domestic run. It seems like the 13 year wait for the successor to Finding Nemo was worth it, we look forward to seeing what other accomplishments Finding Dory can achieve.
