Black Panther has been wildly successful, what impact could this make on a huge division of The Walt Disney Company, the Disney Parks. Coming off the massive opening weekend for Black Panther, it's gotten me thinking how could this IP possible expand into other ventures. Becoming the fifth highest grossing opening weekend of all time with $202M, and a total of $242M over the 4-day debut. Black Panther is now a proven success with critical and fan praise matched with box office numbers that blew all expectations out of the water. Along with the film keeping up with that opening weekend momentum as it's stayed #1 at the box office for 5 weeks straight and has made 1.2 Billion dollars worldwide. Because of those factors, it's almost inevitable that it will continue to follow the marvel format and receive two more sequels to round out an entire Black Panther trilogy. We know Disney loves tying in movie releases with theme park attractions, as seen with last years Mission Breakout at Disney California Adventure opening three weeks after the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Meaning that Disney would have plenty of time to conceptualize, develop, and construct a Black Panther themed land in time for a possible sequel. For anyone who's seen the movie you'd know the African roots within the film is very prominent and something that would fit perfectly in the Animal Kingdom. The main setting of Wakanda is actually in Africa, with the characters and culture being clear representations of that. Plus Wakanda is very similar, but at the same time different then the rest of Africa with it's extreme level of technology. With that aspect you'd be keeping guests in a constant theme of the park but at the same time making it different enough to be refreshing. I came up with a possible name for the land, something I believe to fit in the style of other Disney expansions, which is 'Black Panthers Land of Wakanda'. In this land there would be great attractions and restaurants. Shop-wise, imagine something similar to the marketplace we seen in the Black Panther film. Disney could go the root of immersing guests into their own adventure similar to what we're expecting from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, with having the five different Wakandan tribes being available for you to join. After the heaping praise that Pandora - The World of Avatar received, it looks as Disney is eyeing another expansion for Animal Kingdom in the near future. With rumors last year surrounding a possible Zootopia or Indiana Jones themed land coming to the park. Possibly now the idea of Black Panther could surpass them both, but that's up to the Imagineers at Disney to decide. To play devils advocate, most people would expect an entire Marvel land to come to the parks, instead of one land based around a marvel property. So possibly an E-ticket attraction within Animal Kingdom could suit Black Panther as well. It'll be interesting to see how the future goes when related to Black Panther. It's clear that Disney loves the property with the characters presence in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Plus we can see from the trailer that Wakanda is already going to be a huge setting in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War film With all that being said, I'm not pleading for this idea to come to fruition and possible hinder other expansions people want. The point of this article was just me pointing out how a Black Panther land would make almost perfect sense to be integrated into Disney's Animal Kingdom. Lastly, I just want to mention that rumors have arouse about a possible Black Panther attraction heading over to Epcot's Future World. In a spot that's currently held as a backstage area, the Wonders of Life Pavilion. A very underutilized part of the park which would fit well with Black Panther as the gold dome looks similar to the force field that surrounds Wakanda. So possibly Disney would create a full Marvel Land at Epcot with the already announced Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, with this rumored Black Panther ride. For any worried Epcot purists, adding Black Panther to Epcot would actually make a lot of sense, maybe not as much as Disney's Animal Kingdom, but the film has a strong involvement in advanced technology. An aspect that could be intertwined into Epcot's Future World in a almost seeming less way.
